Solved Touchpad color?

Hi,

I like my Dell 5510 laptop, none issues.

Lately noticed while sitting from a distance that its touch pad's matt grey color had changed to shinny/glossy ONLY on the areas where I use to click it. (I would say right middle circle).

Any remedy to clear up the the shinny circular area?

Hoping to hear as always from you experts.

PS: Could it be due to sweat or left over meds despite washing....

My Area 51 is the same on the palm rest where my hand is all the time, I use antistatic cleaner

Care to suggest any antistatic cleaner?

Same for the screen to occasionally clear up some dust as is opened 24/7?

BTW I like its sensitivity....

The one I use is made by Office Depot it is called Foam Cleaner and anti-static underneath on a red label. hopefully you can search for it

For screen I just use Fellows screen cleaning wipes

Appreciate your expert guidance.:) I will get it as I worked in The Middlesex hospital Central London before relocating, now have my son and colleagues. Is far simpler to get order online than bother some one.....

The change of gray color from Matt to glossy didn't disappear with the antistatic spray...

Mine is fine with it, but looking hard I see it doesn't go altogether

My guess is that the clear gloss coating they used has worn off. Something like the clear coat they use on automobiles to help protect the paint.

Hi,

Took the laptop to a PC shop, (recommend by a patient)..the guy did an excellent 👌 job. Firstly cleaned it with some antistatic spray of his than attached a microfilm all over the lower part of the keyboard. Finely cut the edges for touchpad just to not get noticed, it's as I bought it and future protection. Made sure it didn't affect the sensitivity of it.

He too cleaned the screen and attached a cell phone like protector against, dust etc.

Oh yes, I agree 👍. But this professionally, neatly applied microfilm has even made it better than before. And 1 on the lid another one on the screen.
Now as posted, would get a nice Logitech/ Dell mouse.

You mean the color or the invisible microfilm. I doubt it, but even if it does would cost me another $2/-
