TPM Not Detected, In Prep for Upgrade to Windows 11

Another wrinkle. I successfully made the switches in my BIOS (TUF Gaming UEIF BIOS settings). Switched from Discrete TPM to Firmware TPM & switched TPM Erase from Enabled to Disabled. Further, changed Secure Boot from Other OS to Microsoft Secure Boot compliant OS. Rebooted and both PC Health Check App & WhyNotWin11 showed that TPM 2.0 was ready for upgrade to Windows 11 Pro. Great!

This morning, I was directed to this article:

Windows 11 Pro users beware: Microsoft's BitLocker encryption could be seriously slowing down your PC

Among other things the article says that Windows 11 Pro is installed by default with Bitlocker encryption turned on!

Reading again the message I received when I made the changes in the BIOS:

Notice: AMD fTPM is a hardware TPM 2.0 implementation integrated in AMD AGESA code for credential storage and key management. The firmware TPM key will be stored in AMD AGESA code data region once you enable AMD fTPM and Windows Bitlocker for drive encryption. Please note that when the recovery key is lost or when the BIOS ROM chip is replaced, the system will not boot unto the operations system and the data will stay encrypted and cannot be restored.

Does this mean that when I do the Windows 11 upgrade, that my access will be locked out because of this warning? Or, all is good & this only becomes a concern when/if the “BIOS ROM chip is replaced?

The simple answer being to immediately change from Bitlocker after the upgrade to avoid this possibility later in the game? Thanks!

Ok, thanks to all who participated in this thread. I have successfully upgraded from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro. It kept basically all my setting, including network, so it went smooth. Also did not automatically turn on Bitlocker. Even all my other connected equipment showed up under Network.
