I had to reinstall Windows 11 to fix update porblems on my Asus ExpertBook.
Windoes got all the drivers from the net and all seemed to work fine...
BUT then I found trouble with the "Realtek Audio Console".
When I launch it it open a short blink and the closes.
Same happends when I pug something in to the 3,5" jack.
And the headset I pug in is not discovered either.
Have to be plugged in when I boot the system to be discovered.
1) Why does the "Realtek Audio Console" crash when opening?
2) Why does the system not detect when a 3,5" s plugged in?

I would go to the Asus Website to see if they have a Specific Realtek Driver and Software for your model.
If they do download the software, uninstall the existing Realtek Software and make sure there is no internet connection so that if the system wants to reboot after the uninstall you can install the Asus Software.

That is likely due to missing system drivers that would in the original installation.
Also Laptops come with extra sound Apps overlaying the Realtek stuff.

You can try going to the ASUS driver downloads specific for your model. They maybe disguised as something not so obvious.

Windows updates also plays it's part in updating system drivers and audio components.

The Realtek Audio Console on mine works correctly including jack detections of external Headphones/Mic.
It also has Nahimic audio components and a Lenovo specific internal mic noise cancellation feature, those also work.

I have reinstalled all the drivers from the Asus website for my laptop.
That fixed the 3,5" hot-plug issue (it's now detecting in/out plugging).
But the "Realtek Audio Console" still crash (but that's no problem, don't use it anyway).

BUT my HDMI is still not hot-detecting. It needs to be plugged in at boot.
Plug in/out after (when Windows is running) does not work.
If it is plugged in it is not detected (even when clicking "Detect").
If it uplugged that is not detected either (still shows two displays).

Is there a service or task that I can check that does this detection?
Or is it the Intel display driver that should do this detection?
(now I have tried both orignial Asus driver and the latest).

Again, no problem with detection of my HDMI connected external Dell Monitor whilst running.
Driver was updated to 4502 by Manufacturers update App 28.05.24

These are my Intel services the iGPU is Iris Xe graphics.

"Is there a service or task that I can check that does this detection?
Or is it the Intel display driver that should do this detection?"

I do not know, nor the details of these services other than what the description says.

I'll check those services with mine, but I don't remember having any graphics related services.
I was more thinking about if there where any Windows/MS services for detecting HDMI devices?

As I said, no knowledge of the detail.

I would just point out I have the manufacturers original Laptop Recovery Media, and more recent Windows Recovery Media, and an Image of the Laptop drive. All of which would restore system drivers.
