Solved Trying to revert changes on registry

Hello,

Recently I tried to make some changes on registry using this command

Powershell:

New-Item -Path "HKCU:\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows" -Name "WindowsCopilot" -Force; New-ItemProperty -Path "HKCU:\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsCopilot" -Name "TurnOffWindowsCopilot" -Value 1 -PropertyType DWord -Force

may I ask what does this command do? does it safe? and is there a way to revert what this command do or can I just delete the key created using this command?

So did you run the command or not? If your goal is to remove Copilot then just uninstall it or if you right click on the systray Icon for it you can choose quit, You also can use REVO uninstaller to remove it.

Did it work? if so then it is safe. It can always be re - installed from the MS Store.

To be honest I don't know its working or not, because I did uninstall copilot before running this command, but the language bar on taskbar keep showing every restart even I set it to hidden. Does this command only create registry key? Or does it do something else too beside creating key? if so, can I just delete it to revert the changes it made?

The Language Bar?? I do not have a Language bar. Open up task manger and stop it from running. or disable it. I hope that you made some sort of backup or a restore point before you did this. Also a Registry Backup.

That command disables Copilot using group policy like in option three below. You can use step 2 in option 3 to undo it.

Its on the taskbar the one with keyboard language format, I do have resgitry backup but its a bit old.

It's a safe command, but really no need to use it since you uninstalled the Copilot app.

You could manually delete the key to undo it, or use step 2 in option 3 below to undo it for you with a REG file.

None of this is related to the language bar though.

1. I created a key manually like "AllowTelemetry", does deleting it will revert the changes too?
2. I did tried used O&O shut up before but it seems like broke some things, then I do the system restore to revert the changes, does system restore enough to revert all the changes O&O shut up made?
