Unable to activate Windows 11 in Hyper-V virtual machine

I have been having some issues with AutoCAD and AutoHotkey interferences - not critical but annoying - I thought it might be an issue with the latest upgrades in Windows - I am currently running 24H2 (I have not automatically received the updates to 25H2 or 26H2).
I downloaded an ISO file for 26H2 and loaded it onto a USB but it would not install unless as a full 'clean' one. This, of course wiped my C: drive so I had to reinstall my usual programmes. That lost my customisations in AutoCAD, which is fairly critical to my work. I have been unable to reinstate these completely, so I decided to dump 26H2 and restore 24H2 from a system image I had created on an external drive. This has put me back in the original situation with the AutoCAD/AutoHotkey issue though I could save the customisations to the external drive as well.
I thought I might try virtualisation and install 26H2 in isolation and import the customisations to AutoCAD there.
Never had anything to do with virtualisations but eventually set up a VM using Hyper-V and installed 26H2 - but I cannot activate it using my original software key from Windows 10 that successfully transferred automatically to Windows 11 24H2. When I try to use Change product key I get error codes 0x0803fa067 and 0x803f7001. I think this is because Win11 is running under a digital license.
Is there any way I can activate the existing installation of 26H2 without having to purchase a completely fresh one?

A VM is just like another physical system and needs its own license.
They can be had pretty cheap, I have bought 3 or 4 Windows licenses and MSO 2024 from:

Thanks for the info - and the link, I have bought and downloaded the product key and successfully activated the 26H2 version on the VM.
Unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to install the nVidia driver for my graphics card, and a 1024x768 display in the middle of a 3840x2160 screen is not really useful. I will have to ditch the VM and try installing the 26H2 directly again.

Any VM uses the host for most of the hardware as you can't override what is already loaded.
A VM runs on top of the same hardware that the host uses while running in the background.
You therefore do not install the driver, you make it pass through.

But to be honest, AutoCAD is not the program you want to run on a VM because of the software demands on the hardware.
If there is a program you want to run natively, AutoCAD would be it.

I agree AutoCAD (LT) is resource hungry. I think I will be better off trying to resolve the AutoHotkey issue than mess with trying to get the nVidia to pass through to a VM.

Did you download the same language ISO as your current installation? I see UK at the end of your handle; if you have the international English edition of Windows, don’t use the US English edition for an upgrade.
