Unable to Completely Uninstall Snagit Version 2022 from Windows 10 Computer

I've tried uninstalling Snagit version 2022 using the Windows Control Panel Programs and Features and clicking Snagit and Uninstall. The Uninstall completes correctly but there are still many instances of "snagit" and "techsmith" in my registry. Even after restarting the computer those instances remain. How can I COMPLETELY uninstall these from my computer?

It depends - some of those entries may simply be a part of the MRU hives in the registry where Windows tracks your Most Recently Used (MRU) applications. Those are placed by Windows system, not the application itself, and thus will not be removed when the application is uninstalled.

Other hives may also contain references to software that was placed by the system, and has nothing to actually do with installation of software, as well.

But if you've uninstalled it, and you can see those items in the registry, it should be safe to remove them as well.

That being said - they are not hurting anything, and again, as they are not related to the installation of the software itself, they won't cause any issues with them being there. I recommend that you leave them alone unless you're sure you know what your doing when it comes the to registry. This is not a Snag-It thing, this is a Windows thing - and it happens with all software that gets installed and later uninstalled after use.

When I uninstall a program I always use Revo uninstaller as @IanMosley suggested, as it scans after the built in installer has finished and gives you the options to delete the "leftovers" which I do and it always works well, I use the free version. Afterwards I use another freebie called Everything and scan for the program name, program manufacturer etc. it is amazing what is left behind. The good thing about Revo is you can create a restore point first, although I would rather create an image with Macrium

some programs still leave stuff even after Revo that's why i search with everything, maybe I am a bit OTT

Got to say, with the previous version of Revo I could go in and manually look for leftovers. The current one does it automatically

I prefer the free version 2.3.8 to the pro version even if it is older, it seems to work well for me and then my search but everyone has their own way of doing things

I see a 'free trial version' but I don't see a free version. If I decide to use it, I would just need to use it once. Is there a free (no trial) version?

Please ignore my preceding message. I downloaded and installed the free Revo app and ran its Uninstall process. It did not find anything related to TechSmith or to Snagit so I think I'll just leave everything alone as suggested by Johnlgalt.
