The update KB5012170 was installed on my system 10 August 2022, but wasn't until today that I got the error that my PIN wasn't working and got to use the recovery key. The thing is, I've tried several times and now says "Too many PIN entry attempts", even though the PIN was right, I didn't know there was a limit. I can boot to W11 with the recovery key anyway each time.

I've tried following the internet tutorials:
  • Run Command Prompt as Administrator and enter the Manage-bde -protectors -disable %systemdrive% -rebootcount 2 command.
  • Install KB5012170. from URL (Microsoft Update Catalog) however can't install the file "windows10.0-kb5012170-x64_0558b5879de03bfb5319b1244d84ca3735a6a377.msu" because says the update is already installed, and apparently there is no way to uninstall it.
  • Restart your computer two times.
  • BitLocker should be back running after the second restart. You can verify its status using the Manage-bde -protectors -Enable %systemdrive% command.”
After these steps still keeps saying at boot prompt that "Too many PIN entry attempts" and PIN does not work, then I hit Esc twice, and enter the recovery key. It's the only way I have to boot to W11 right now. I guess can't fix it since entered the "wrong" PIN too many times? Do I have to decrypt and re-crypt all my drives again to fix this? Do I need to reset the TPM like MS says? Error after you enter BitLocker PIN at startup - Windows Client

So the issue fixed itself after waiting more than 24 hours to boot again into Windows, now the PIN is accepted right away at first try. Wonder why it asks for the PIN before that if it won't work since it's temporarily banned. Maybe it always asks for it then checks...
Probably disabling the protector and rebooting twice then re-enabling it was what fixed the issue.

How to solve what? I don't understand the question.
The problem of the failed upgrade, I assume depends on motherboards from 10-12 years ago where to install W11, I had to bypass the TPM.
