Solved Unable to install Sharex

I don't have any known issues with my Win 11 Pro setup and the system file checker comes back clean every time. I am using an Administrator account. Thankfully Snipping Tool is still working.

Try installing to a specific folder of your choosing. Alternatively, take ownership of the folder where ShareX is trying to install.

If you're using Defender it might be blocking the installer.

I've allowed the ShareX installer through the Defender firewall but still get the same error

Allow it through Controlled folder access. (Allow an app through Controlled folder access).
You can get to the setting via 'Virus and protection settings,- manage settings, - Controlled folder access, - Manage controlled folder access, - Allow an app through controlled folder access.

Controlled folder access is off

And you've checked Protection history. Stumped then.

Same error being reported back then with v13, I'm trying to install latest v15.0.0. I give up but thanks for the efforts

Just downloaded the portable version. Works just fine !?

Dunno why I bothered - for simply grabbing screenshots, which is all I need to do, Snipping Tool is far simpler to use. Hope it doesn't completely disappear
