Solved Unable to turn off battery saver feature on Windows Surface

I have a Surface running Windows 11. Version 24H2. Build 26100.4946.
I turned on battery saver from the bios not long ago because I thought it capped the charge at 80%. I figured that was doable. But the charge is capping at 50%, and that's a bridge too far for me. So I'm trying to turn it off by returning to the bios, but the switch is not present, as every guide and discussion including Microsoft's claims. It's simply not there. I looked all through my battery settings to see if maybe it had unlocked a setting within Windows, but alas no. Has anyone had any luck turning off battery saver after they'd enabled it? Thank you.

You did not mention which Surface you are using. Try looking in the Surface App power settings. Microsoft did an update this week that made new power options within the app. It may have affected your Surface and solve the problem.

Wow, what the heck are the chances of that? I couldn't remember my model before, but it's 7. You're right! Battery saver options in the Surface app :) Thank you.

Turns out it was a glitch in the August 7th update. They're working on a fix now. Unbelievable timing.

Is your Surface app version 75.8140.109.0? That's the latest version I have for my Surface Laptop 7 and the switch works perfect.

The issue has been fixed with an update. Microsoft had accidentally removed the switch in a recent update. To fix, you need to boot into the UEFI (aka bios) and disable adaptive battery. Turn off your laptop. Hold down the F4 key, press the power button, then continue holding F4 until you boot into the UEFI. Disable the adaptive battery and restart normally. Then, in Windows, open your Surface app and adjust your battery saving settings to your preference.
