OS
Windows 11
Hello,

We have Microsoft Windows 11 Enterprise multi-session, it's a Azure Virtual Desktop computer and it doesn't do feature updates,
currently at 10.0.22000.2716
1707832425874.png
I was just wondering, has anyone updated this version of win11 to 23h2, I can't seem to find a way to. I do not have the ISO to directly install it and windows update doesn't work either.
1707832459540.png
French for "You are up to date" "Last verification: yesterday: 12h03"

I had tried forcing the Windows 11 update before on december and it saw 23h2 but it got stuck and never installed uppon reboot and i had to remove the softwaredistribution to get it to start updating normal cumulatives

Our update software always fail saying it's missing requirement but doesn't say what

Any insight would be welcome!

Thanks

If I had it would try what I did earlier. You download the entire disc image iso from microsoft.com, 6.4gb, and let the installer figure the version to install by itself. Installs off the hard drive, no usb booting.

Could be the Edition of Windows Enterprise is involved such as company restrictions.

Those do not follow the standard update protocols as the machine is virtual.

I doubt you will be able to do anything with this OS.
An installation from scratch is worth a try though.
Was it a company owned machine?

The hardware is tied to this type of licensed product and I don't know if it will let you do an upgrade to the standard release.
I have never tried so I can't answer. As it is, it is not possible to update the OS as updates are on a different channel.
Was it on a FSLogix managed environment?

We were on the previous version but we remove it because we didn't like the way it was working.

so all FSLogix are off/ uninstalled

I know when I updated using setupprep.exe /product server method, the install immediately started, and it said which OS version it was going to install.
It told me windows 11 pro, which is what I had. That method bypasses all hardware checks and is automated. You had to click next to continue at the beginning

Why would the OP use that? His system passes all the requirements already.
I am done here, too much noise about unrelated issues.
