Running Windows 11 Pro, 21H2, I am unable to KB5016629 (and the last 3 cumulative updates, for that matter). Every time it fails with the horrifically undescriptive 0x80073701 error. Even when I try and be smart about it, and examnine the CBS.log for ERROR_SXS_ASSEMBLY_MISSING notices, I get hopelessly convoluted messages like:
Would be so )@#$%*# nice if MS had at least the decency to say what KB number is missing. It's quite impossible to make sense of this mess. As of this moment, I am unable to update my Windows 11 (64-bit) system any more, and have been since a few months. Any way to solve this in a normal way??
EDIT, And before someone asks, I already executed a "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" (and assorted other DSM commands). To no avail.
