Uninstalled OneDrive but....

I am running windows 11 version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.5472) and I keep uninstalling One Drive, but then it will reinstall itself on me. I had gotten rid of it, only to find today that it is saving to One Drive so I uninstalled it again, but I noticed that that there is a folder in C > Users > my name > this is where there is a folder titled One Drive. Can I simply delete that folder?

You don’t need to. I certainly wouldn’t do that. Hang loose and Ill get the process for you

If this happens, then you could try option three in the tutorials below to restore the default folder location and move your files manually from Onedrive into the folders..

Once you do this the files you have in onedrive will remain there until you login to Onedrive on the Web and delete them.

Find Onedrive in the list and, right click on it, select disable. This prevents Onedrive from auto-starting.

4. If you want to uninstall it instead, the best way is to use Revo Uninstaller Freeware Portable. You’ll find Onedrive under the Windows Apps section. Be sure to scan for and delete any leftover files and registry entries Revo finds. Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download

I believe you will have to reinstall onedrive temporarily from the MS store until the process has been done correctly.

I used the control panel to uninstall it the last time and all was fine until the other day when I noticed that my documents were again being saved to One Drive. However, I don't think that happened until after I installed MS Office on the computer. That is when I copied that stuff from One Drive and saved them to my documents folder and then did that uninstall. After doing that I then thought that I probably should have used Revo Uninstaller to do the uninstall for me thinking that might be why that folder is there.

I did check task manager and it isn't listed there, nor is it listed in the start menu any more.

I will follow the advice here and reinstall it and then follow the steps here to uninstall it and then add that registry key to prevent OneDrive from running again if it does get installed again.
