Hey guys!

have some questions about NTLite.
first of all, I want to thank the NTLite developers who I know they are active in this forum too.❤️

Explanations:
I've downloaded the UUPDump script for 26100.3915 and changed the ConvertConfig.ini like this:
INI:
[convert-UUP]
AutoStart    =1
AddUpdates   =1
Cleanup      =1
ResetBase    =1
NetFx3       =0
StartVirtual =0
wim2esd      =0
wim2swm      =0
SkipISO      =0
SkipWinRE    =0
LCUwinre     =1
LCUmsuExpand =1
UpdtBootFiles=1
ForceDism    =1
RefESD       =0
SkipLCUmsu   =0
SkipEdge     =0
AutoExit     =0
DisableUpdatingUpgrade=0
AddDrivers   =1
Drv_Source   =\Drivers

[Store_Apps]
SkipApps     =0
AppsLevel    =0
StubAppsFull =0
CustomList   =0

[create_virtual_editions]
vUseDism     =1
vAutoStart   =1
vDeleteSource=1
vPreserve    =0
vwim2esd     =0
vwim2swm     =0
vSkipISO     =0
vAutoEditions=

this config updates everything and adds my .inf drivers
after downloading the image, wanted to use NTLite to integrate silent installers to the image, so my drivers' utilities are pre-installed on my laptop.
then I recognized that NTLite has some good tools to modify settings and add updates too!

after mounting the UUP iso image I have 4 sub options:

- Operating system | install.wim
1. MS Windows 11 pro
1.1. Windows Recovery Environment

- Boot/Setup | boot.wim
1. MS Windows PE (amd64)
2. MS Windows Setup (amd64)

My questions:
1- What is the order of loading these sub options and modifying them?
2- Is it necessary to integrate all updates and modify settings into the Windows Recovery Environment?
3- Is it necessary to integrate all updates and modify settings into the Windows PE?
4- Is it necessary to integrate all updates and modify settings into the Windows Setup?
5- What is the order of adding updates in each one of them? CU / DU / ...

There are no NTLite devs here. nuhi exclusively provides support on the NTLite Community forum, as he's the only developer of the product. Questions specific to NTLite usage should be posted there.

1. You can apply Updates and Drivers to multiple images at the same time in the Apply screen. You don't need to change Settings everywhere, because most of the time it doesn't make any sense. boot.wim & WinRE are limited environments, so tweaking your desktop has zero meaning for them.

2. WinRE should take Updates and Drivers. Nothing else.

3. Windows Setup should take Drivers. You can add Updates, but it's a waste of time. WinPE is ignored after you've installed Windows. Windows PE in boot.wim can be deleted. It's only provided by MS for people like @pseymour to build their own custom scripting platforms.

4. NTLite knows what order to apply changes in. For a home user, don't waste your time with Dynamic Updates. If you're already updating images before installing them, then DU provides no benefit. It's designed for environments where people don't update their images frequently.

And if you install 24H2, OOBE forced updates will install the latest CU, which was the point of DU in the first place.

This guide, explains how to add the missing driver(s) to the Windows Installation ISO.

This guide will teach you how to add the Windows updates to the Windows installation media so that you don't need to check for updates on each computer each time you make a fresh installation.

Sorry forgot to ask my fifth question.
Can I modify windows 11 iso image for my laptop on another PC with windows 10 21H2 LTSC + the Windows ADK 10.1.26100.2454 (December 2024) by NTLite?
thanks

You don't need ADK, when using NTLite. ADK is only required if you're following the MS guides and only using MS provided tools to update images.

So how does NTLite integrate updates into Install.WIM if it's not using DISM in ADK?

There's a DISM API, and NTLite will borrow the mounted image's own DISM DLL's when processing for even more compatibility.

That's very nice. (I know garlin knows this, but for others:) There are subtle differences sometimes, and it's wise to use a DISM that's as recent as the Windows being manipulated. Bravo, NTLite people. (y)

Great! It’s the best tool I’ve ever seen. If you know the developer tell him/her that we love the product in forum and we support it.
Thanks for your support <3
