Solved Updating Secure Boot on Alienware Aurora R7


I know this is an old thread but ive been dual booting win 10 with void linux and I tried setting up secure boot on linux but I lack the custom secure boot option which allows me to create and set the key, I would love to hear if you found out how you got access to that option, ive tried to set a system and admin password and little else since the bios is very lacking.

I know that its not very related to what you guys were talking about but I cant find much online.

Unfortunately the menu settings depend on what generation of Dell BIOS you have. Some versions make it easy. Other BIOS'es you have to figure out which setting turns off the factory or "Microsoft" defaults (which is another way of saying it's in Custom Mode).

have a look at this please and run each step in part A and then Part B

i have put this together as i had problems updating 2 desktops and 3 laptops. which have now all had their Secure Boot Certs updated to the new 2023 secure boot cert also the other post about this were getting very long and confusing. this is in two parts. part A and part B. edit by me. please...

see if that gives you the required secure boot certs or at least an error message to look at.

if trying to do this on Linux you will be required to created your own MOK
then you would be able to update the certs via Linux, but thats a whole new story.
