I have recently started using Phone link with my Pixel 7 pro, I can see all the photos that are on my phone on my Laptop but I cant delete them from the laptop the delete option is greyed out, see photo, anyone offer any help as to how i can fix this.

I tried to delete a photo on my phone using my laptop and Phone Link, I got this popup.

Then if needed See all Link To Windows Permissions.

That's not so. With wifi and Bluetooth turned off, I can still see the photos on my laptop. How do you know he has bluetooth AND wifi connected?

OP said he just started using Phone Link.
The pix got loaded.
How could he have loaded the pictures without having had a connection at one point?
It is a permission issue on the phone.


@Bikeit
May I recommend, Intel Unison, so much easier to use, No widget but it works and is really easy to set up.

@Bikeit I'd suggest you uninstall and reinstall Phone link and if that doesn't fix it, uninstall and reinstall Link to Windows on the phone or at least delete all the storage for that app.

I looked in Link to Windows permissions and couldn't find any relevant permission. What do you see in yours @OAT ?

If I turn off permissions for photos and videos in Link to Windows, I get this screen in Phone link. That's not what OP sees.

It is not in Link to Windows app. I never posted that.
You have to go thru system settings. It is not the same as within the app.
Settings / APPS/ Permissions/Permissions/Phone/Link To Windows
Then if needed See all Link To Windows Permissions.

Unlink your phone.
From the app on your phone, Click on the gear wheel icon.
Click on the user under Linked Account
Sign out and Unlink account.
On Windows, Settings/apps/System Components(scroll)/Phone Link/.../Advanced Options/Reset app
or Settings/System/System Components/Phone Link
If on non-release builds it may be under system components.

Go ahead and reinstall and take your time and look for permissions pop-up on your phone.
MS did such a poor job and should have followed the Intel model (link above)

Do you back up your photos to your Google account?
If so, an easier solution would be to go to photos.google.com and delete them from there.

I'm on the release channel and had to go to Settings, System, System Components, Phone Link

There is an option to repair or reset.
