phone link, unknown message, how do I delete?

using windows 11, ver 24H2 OS Build 26100 4061,
I have recently linked my phone to my laptop, phone model Samsung Galaxy AO5s on android,
phone link on laptop is showing 2 messages, one from NHS which shows on phone, reminding me of an appointment,
other message from someone called Audrey at Carter Murray, no idea on who this is and not showing in phone messages only on phone link
how do I delete this message? there is no option on phone link!
all help and advice appreciated

Have you tried right-clicking on the message in the left-hand pane to see if an option to 'Delete' is available?

right hand colunm - copy all, select all, copy link
left hand column - pin, mute, hide
3 dots, top right - whats new & keyboard shortcuts
srttings - nothing regarding deleting or saving messages

So you could select 'Hide' and it would disappear?

thank you wiganken, must be getting old, thinking too much of deleting but never though of hiding, I appreciate your advice and help, it's out of sight

Incidentally PhoneLink is known to have issues. I use an app called MyPhoneExplorer and I find it much better. It is free but prompts you to buy a licence. I found it so good I paid £10 and have no regrets. I have no vested interest in MPE. Just a satisfied user.

This could be related to a couple of things that I can think of.
1 - You phone carrier or Message App recognises the message as a scam or a phishing notification, Phone Link Doesn’t
2 - You have in the past blocked that number on your phone or reported it as spam or a phishing notification and the security or block list isn’t carried over to your Phone Link App in Windows 11

Also, you cannot directly delete messages from within the Microsoft Phone Link app on your PC. Phone Link is primarily designed for viewing and replying to messages, not for deletion. Which is kind of frustrating as this apparently needs to be performed on your phone for it to be reflected in Phone link. But if your phone has automatically deleted or blocked a number or message, that is an impossible task. I m not sure how this happens other than a syncing issue.
Most likely a future ability will allow the deletion of messages from Phone Link that will reflect on your Android?

Allegedly (I don’t have an Android phone):

To view spam text messages on an Android phone; open the Messages app, tap the three-dot menu or your profile icon, and select "Spam & blocked".This will display a list of messages that have been flagged as spam. You can then review these messages and choose to unblock a contact if necessary.

1. Open the Messages app: Locate and open the Messages app on your Android phone.
   
   
2. Access the menu: Tap the three-dot menu (usually located in the top-right corner) or your profile icon.
   
   
3. Select "Spam & blocked": Choose the "Spam & blocked" option from the menu.
   
   
4. Review spam messages: You will now see a list of messages that have been flagged as spam by your phone.
   
   
5. Unblock a contact (optional): If you accidentally reported a message or need to access a blocked conversation, you can select the contact and then tap "Unblock".

This may be helpful if you want to confirm that the message you are seeing in Phone Link, actually attempted to be shown on your mobile pnhone.
