Solved Using the MS Store Without MS Account

Thanks, maybe Microsoft Store still does not have the new version yet.

The release date for the 2302.40000.9.0 changes because I had been checking every day since April 6 and the date/timestamp keeps changing.
In the thread at Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) 2302.4000 update on Windows 11 , I posted the version #'s found on rg-adguard since March 25, 2023 and it seems like it was always updated except the latest WSA somehow still has not been updated which was why I asked the question.

Search the Windows App store for your app, and copy the Product ID from the last part of the URL.
At least for me, this isn't so simple, since the Microsoft Store doesn't show the URL by default. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, maybe there's some setting to make the URL magically appear, or maybe Microsoft has jut dumbed down what's displayed, but to get the Product ID, it seems I must:
  • Search for the app, and click on it to open app details (e.g., Rating, Description, System Requirements)
  • At the bottom of the page, to the right of the ESRB age rating, click on the small arrow (when hovering over it, "Share" is displayed)
  • At the bottom-left of the window that opens, in the "Share with" section click on "Copy link"
  • The link can now be pasted anywhere. As indicated by @garlin, the Product ID is shown in the URL after the last "/", and can be copied from there.

Perhaps garlin meant going to the Store in your browser rather than in the Store app?

All the best,
Denis

Thanks Denis. Of course - I should have realized this.
At least instructions for the Store app are now out here in case anyone makes the same blunder.

Hi everyone,

I finally managed to understand how to install Metro apps with Microsoft Store - Generation Project (v1.2.3) [by @rgadguard & mkuba50], and without Windows Package Manager (it seems you must be an Insider to be able to install it @garlin).

As my system is running with a local account and do not have a Microsoft account linked nor the Store installed, I was able to do it pretty easily just using PowerShell (thanks to it-connect.fr and woshub.com).

I first installed the App Installer, which makes all .Appx, .AppxBundle and .MSIxBundle installers into executable files (instead of using PowerShell all the time for installs).

I posted a proper guide on the french Team-Aaz forum and provided a small repository of the main free apps.
I could translate this guide here if you like.
