Yesterday i took the plunge & decided to go ahead with the upgrade to Win 11 from 10. Though my laptop is eligible, i hadn't got the official 'go ahead' from MS to install but i wanted to install it nevertheless.
I downloaded the MS Update Assistant. When i ran it, it looked like everything was going good till it started installing. Up came a BSOD with error DPC_Watchdog_Violation. It booted back up & restored Win 10.
Decided to use the .iso file - mounted it & ran it. Installation went flawlessly. The only change i made was for the installer NOT to search for updates. When Win 11 came up, there were 3 Windows update (including the one to version 22000.258), 2 other Windows update & a firmware update for my laptop.
Now comes the learning curve - as for performance, seems more or less the same as with Win 10. All my installed programs work OK which was the major concern i had (besides it installing OK)
All in all...satisfied...so far!
