Uupdump.net site down

I would always use and install such an program and the resulting ISO on a protected environment like VirtualBox (VB). Yesterday I downloaded the last version (23545.1000) of the NL Home Edition AMD64 from the new UUP site. I did that also via a Win11 version on my VB. So there's no danger of getting some infection in my normal system.

Did the convert to ISO in a VB Win11 environment too. Takes some time (ca 45 min.), more than in a normal system, because the VB - Windows is much slower (4 cpu's). Copied the resulting ISO to my (SSD) drive from where I install VB Windows testversions.
After that I just clicked away the VirtualBox without saving the snapshot.

After that I installed the new Windows version in VB, never did this before (not from a development version, only official downloads). Must say it worked wonderful! Could use the testversion without having any insider account.
Could test the changes to the new File Explorer, about which is written rather much, because it would have changed fully. It tuned out to be better than I feared, but that's another subject, would not fit in this topic.

Oracle VirtualBox 7 for testing software on Win 10 or 11
A cool thing about Virtual Machines is that you can port them. For example, you can can run Oracle Virtualbox on your host computer, and then create VMs that are static in size, and put them on a fast external SSD and connect them through a USB C or USB 3.2 port to the host computer. So you can run several host computers, with Oracle VB, and you can have an SSD with the VMs on it and connect that to each host computer and the VMs will run on each host. I’ve got a VM for Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows 11. VMs are a grest test environment.

Works fine -- .ee is Estonia, a good reliable country with great Internet infrastructure and a decent Govt where more Engineers and scientists work in it rather than too many Bankers, Lawyers and Economists. Provided the Russians don't get into Estonia I'd suggest 100% safe and reliable.

BTW there's that other one which is good too -- can't remember the site but if you search on posts by @cereberus he's mentioned a reliable alternative site that also works quite well too.

Cheers

You can use the link below to have it in English instead. :alien:

@Brink, I have tried every link to a uupdump site posted including yours. So far, nothing I do will allow me to get all the way through to a clean installation. :-(

1. I downloaded from the first site posted (in Estonia?), and went all the way to using Rufus to create a bootable flash drive. The PC being an HP, I powered down, plugged in the flash drive, spammed the Escape Key, chose F9, chose the flash drive, and the installation started. Everything seemed OK up to the point of being advised to "wait a minute" when the HP Logo appeared with the solid circle and then :poop: hit the fan . . . I got a set of circling dots and then everything just froze up. Sigh . . .

I tried the second link, then yours, (were there others?) all from this machine using Rufus with a failure every time; HP Logo, solid circle, then circling dots freezing.

Next, I decided to try the media creation tool, downloading from all the links, from this machine, and following the yellow brick road with the exact same results as above.

Soooooo, maybe it's a problem with creating the bootable flash drive (both with the MCT & Rufus), so I changed over to my HP laptop (not listed yet; it's new) and went through all the scenarios above. Still no joy, with the HP Logo, solid circle, then circling dots and, yep, everything just froze solid.

After all this, and working three days on trying to get this done, I gave up and pitched the computer out the window . . . NOT.

I am at my wits' end and don't know what I should try next. I kind of feel like one of the sites put something on my computer that gramma's lye soap won't take off.

Something is definitely wrong if a USB created by MCT doesn't work. You might create a new thread on this with any error messages you got.

Looks like you have a major issue with your system, nothing to do with the web site.
I downloaded and created this one from this UUP dump and did a clean install with it, which worked and completed fine on a Dell desktop.
I never use rufus to create my USB flash drive. I just mount the ISO and copy everything over to a FAT32 formatted flash drive.
This ISO file was made with a compressed install.esd to fit the FAT32 file size limits.
No problems of any kind with it. 🤷‍♂️

Found 2 more links today that seem to get to uup dump. One is definitely from .cn.
But this one below I have not seen before. "windows.hyp.one"? 🤐🤷‍♂️

Looks like you have a major issue with your system, nothing to do with the web site.
I downloaded and created this one from UUP dump and did a clean install with it, which worked and completed fine on a Dell desktop.
I never use rufus to create my USB flash drive. I just mount the ISO and copy everything over to a FAT32 formatted flash drive.
This ISO file was made with a compressed install.esd to fit the FAT32 file size limits.
No problems of any kind with it. 🤷‍♂️

Agreed, I have a major issue with my system, but didn't until I downloaded from the first link that worked (?).

I'm going to go back and see where I got the "Estonia" link.

I've used Rufus for years and years, and never have had problems with it. Since I've always used Rufus without issue, I've never learned anything about making an ISO file with a compressed install.esd to fit the FAT32 file size limits.

I think my first order of business will be to accurately document the steps taken from start to finish in this attempted clean install.

This is the site I used, it is uup.ee for Estonia.

As for making install.esd instead of install.wim, it is one of the options that can be selected when you create the initial .zip file with the script.
As for rufus, I had plenty of problems with it, so I stopped using it long time ago. 😝🤷‍♂️
When it comes to uup dump sites I don't know which one to trust anymore. 😵‍💫🤬

I had issues with the mediacreationtool early on, so tried Rufus and it worked. Never looked back . . . but then with this issue, I even decided to try the MCT and other than the fact that the clean install failed miserably with both the Rufus created bootable flash drive and the MCT, I think both would have done its job if I hadn't gotten something rotten somewhere along the line.

It's way past my bedtime, so I think I'll wait until tomorrow to start the new thread @Brink suggested. I'll post a link here when I get all my ducks in a row . . .

Thanks for your help.

The questions is which one should we use?
That one is not showing Canary?

I'd say, use both for now to get the ISO you want.

Official ISO directly from Microsoft instead would be recommended though.

I don't trust any of these new sites, they're springing up almost on a daily basis!
I'd rather just do an install/upgrade with an official ISO and then run Windows Update after
