Virus in Town??

I have re-installed my Bluetooth earbuds 3 times. Something is killing that installation - they are fine right after I install and then they shut down. I have Windows Defender which has always protected me but maybe no more. I would like to run a scan but that app says everything is fine. Any thoughts?...

Run this as after windows updates the Bluetooth drivers seems to be corrupted almost every update.

What exactly are the symptoms?
When do the symptoms happen?
- Any tie-in with Windows update running?
- Any changes seen in Bluetooth drivers in Device manager?


If I get a Bluetooth problem, I use Bluetooth command line tools to remove all Bluetooth devices so I can start again.

The cmd prompt says it found corrupt files and repaired them. I'll give a new install a go. Will post. Thanks to all.

After removing corrupt files, no deal. Now says "unknown device" -- cannot install Bluetooth as I have -- easily - in the past. Will try again tomorrow...thanks to all for your input.

Perhaps I will just use wired earbuds if this gets to try my patience -- I don't need them to travel - just listening on my laptop - they are convenient however -- if I want to walk around the house while listening -- oh ratz...

They are now working. I took the earbuds out of case and laid them on my keyboard. For some reason, this triggered a reaction and now all ok. I just find BT to be convenient and annoying as hell. Thanks to all.

Most likely it was the bluetooth drivers and seems to happen after every build update.

Same as the drivers in this post the ones that start with BT are bluetooth.

That would indicate dead batteries and/or charging problem, post #12 probably to a charging problem.
How old are these Earbuds and are they a quality brand ?

I always use wired earphones/headsets
