 By enabling or disabling certain 8 digit "ID numbers", you
can turn Windows 11 features ON or OFF.


In many cases, Vivetool is the "only" way to enable/disable certain features.
Make sure you use 3rd party backup software, before you start "tweaking" Windows.​

 Short version...


How to setup Vivetool (do one time only)

1. Get Vivetool attached at bottom of this post...
2. Create a folder in C:\ called zVIVE (you can name the folder whatever you want)
3. Extract the contents of the .zip file you downloaded to: C:\zVIVE (or the folder name you chose)

How to use Vivetool

1. Open an elevated (as admin), command prompt.
2. Type: cd C:\zVIVE (use the folder name you chose)
3. When the prompt changes to... C:\zVive>, copy and paste one of the Vivetool ID numbers shown below...
4. Then reboot the computer, to apply the changes.




Here are some Vivetool ID numbers we know. (Windows 11 only)​

Use the opposite of enable or disable, to undo the changes.

vivetool /disable /id:47205210 <---- Disable the new 25H2 Start Menu

vivetool /disable /id:51960011 <---- Fixes the File Explorer 3-dot menu bug in 24H2

vivetool /enable /id:39696859 <---- Restore the context menu in File Explorer's LEFT pane

vivetool /disable /id:44571814,44573982 <---- Remove "System" labels from START Menu

vivetool /enable /id:39263329 /variant:3 <---- Set search icon back to magnifying glass

vivetool /enable /id:41314201,41655236 <---- Enable "seconds" option in System clock settings.

vivetool /enable /id:44774629,44776738,44850061,42105254,41655236 <---- enable Copilot?


Some Release Preview (Insider) ID numbers, that will work on "public" 24H2.
Use the opposite of enable or disable, to undo the changes.

vivetool /enable /id:50564332 <---- Must do this first, to use Release Preview (Insider), ID numbers below.

vivetool /enable /id:49082522 <---- Adds Notification Bell "option" to the Notifications settings.

vivetool /enable /id:48525682 <---- Adds short or long, time/date "option" to the time/date Settings.

I forgot to make a system restore point before doing the process, how do i revert it back to the default patch KB5022913?

Followed instructions to the T - I already had TTB installed from the Win 11 Store, but used the shortcut from the downloaded portable version nonetheless.
Then after I got an error (details below), I removed TTB from the Win 11 Store and only had the portable version, once again following Part A and B correctly.
On startup of Windows I get the same error:
"The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140_ATOMIC_WAIT.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem"

Any ideas?
Update: - figured it out, that file is from a VC Redist that wasn't installed.

When I see that there are so many 'tweaks' and steps to perform just to get my taskbar transparant I think I quit and start to live with a non-transparant taskbar and wait until there is a tool that does the job with just one mouse-click.

Update; I have SAB version 3.6.2.4653 and I can confirm that this version is working with KB5022913. So I have my transparant taskbar back and the funny thing is, I really love the taskbar icons centered while I always had the taskbar to the right side of the screen.

Actually, SAB was broken as well. But SAB's author(s) fixed it fairly fast.
To be honest... running ViveTool is not quite... "so many 'tweaks' and steps to perform". :cool:

Be aware the Vivetool key 26008830, that disables STTest no longer works on Beta build 22624.1465. It resets to enabled every time you reboot now.

Hi all. I created a smaller taskbar by modifying the TaskbarSi Value Data in the Registry to read "0". However, the last Windows 11 update (16mar23) reverted it to the default size. It doesn't matter what value I now type in there, I'm stuck with the default size. I was advised to run Part B of this tool. However, here's what I get when I run -

Yes, I can see the problem, vivetool.exe is not in your zVive folder BUT
have you read the post before yours?
