VM Names Questions

I just looked at my Hypervisor Management Console and when I located where the actual VM files are stored on my laptop I discovered that only one of the names for the machines carried over to the VM files. This brings me these questions.

Why did only one VM name carry over to the machine names for the machine files?

I compared the file naming to another machine and I discovered that I stored the VMs in folders I named for the individual machines so I can tell which machine in the Hypervisor corresponds to which VM files. I know cannot just rename the files how can I figure out which machine file belongs to which machine from the Hypervisor Management Console?

I would like to set up the same recognizable file storage methodology like I did on my desktop computer. This means I'd have to move the machines around so how can I do that and still have Hypervisor recognize the machines so they remain functional?

The organizational structure I am using on my Pink Desktop is as follows:

D:>Pink PC Files>Tech>VM Tech>VMs>

Then I have separate folders for the VMs and the VHDs:

D:>Pink PC Files>Tech>VM Tech>VMs>

Pics from the organizational structure on my Pink Desktop I want to recreate on my laptop:

Those were the VMs Files, this is for the VHDs:

Here are pictures of what I am seeing in the Hypervisor and on my laptop:

For each VM, there is the associated VMID.

To keep track of them, I put the VMID in each Hyper-V machines along with associated VHDX file in the VM Notes section e.g.

The vhdx file is sort of optional as you can have lots of vhdx files, chop and change them etc.

So first thing I would do is run admin powershell command

Code:
get-vm | ft VMName, VMId

So you can associate entry in hyper-v manager with the VMID (sometimes called GUID). Then add note of VMID to each Hyper-V entry.

What you may find is some VMIDs (in virtual machine folder) no longer is use (i.e. not attached to a Hyper-V entry). I just delete them but you migh want to create a backup just in case.

Ok, now what about the reorganization of the files to put them into the folders like I showed screenshots of? That organizational method works really well for me and I would like to duplicate it on my Katana laptop. I had created the VMs on the laptop first because I had not yet built my custom cooling loop Pink Desktop but once I did I came up with that organizational method which really works for me so I would find it really helpful if I could reorganize the VMs on my Katana laptop to match that. How can I do that and get the Hypervisor to recognize the new locations of the files?
