How does one disable those alerts about new insider builds and Microsoft announcements? I looked but found no setting specifically for that.

It's already disabled, the button is greyed out and reads that they're not supported. Underneath it are just alert options for when someone, not the site itself, interacts with the site.

Just to be clear, the notifications I see are regular alerts at the top, on the hovering blue "ribbon" this forum has. Not notifications that the browser sends to Windows notification center.

I don't think we have a way of turning them off there.
