What are good PDF editors, besides Adobe Acrobat Pro?


i just stopped with the free half baked software and bought an older version of M.S. Word Pro 2019. (New) For a few bucks online. No more with ads and other nonsense. I don't need the latest versions, this does it all.

I use PDF Candy Desk top. It cost me Ninety Nine bucks. It was a one time charge and it was mine. I think that was a lot of money but I got tired of connecting to the web to edit a pdf. The other choices I saw had annual charges to use it.

If you use PDF format to save Web pages, there is a more humane way.
Use the SingleFile browser extension.
The finished file can be easily edited if necessary (for example, notepad++).
HTML5 is not difficult.

PDFgear. Its free and has all the PDF editing tools you could want. Doesn't lock you into the Adobe subscription model. Recommended.

Of the many options, are there some that both have good basic editing tools and "load" documents quickly?

I tried it, it's a bit lackluster.
Besides, I doubt I'd ever edit PDF's on my phone, it's enough of a challenge doing it on a PC!
I have ReadEra on my phone, it's enough for viewing.
I had Xodo Pro, but, it's so resource intense!

Me either. I do most of my PDF work on computers. The same goes for archiving utilities. I rarely use them on a phone.

I've heard good things about this tool. Never had the need to edit PDFs, so can't give a personal opinion on this one though.

Never had a problem with it, with the exception of, perhaps, a homemade or converted PDF, wherein the content placeholders are messed up!
But, for professional PDF's, it's spot on. Any character, any color, any font...
