What is Pluton?

According to the posted links, AMD seems to be taking the Pluton lead with Ryzen 6000 processors, with laptops shipping in May. We'll see what they will cost.

If W11 lives as long as previous OSs, then it will live until 2031. Until then we can live Pluton free, I think (I almost wrote gluten free)

Yeah, we should have a little time with Windows 11. 2031 is a ways off.

Pluton... it almost feels like I need to build a fallout shelter.

If you were in the market, would you buy a machine with:

10th, 11th, 12th generation Intel core

Kind of hard to answer since the Ryzen 7000 doesn't seem to have pricing or hard specs yet. I'd probably go with that, though. Of course, that's if you can get one. It could be they turn out like GPUs where bots snatch them up and resell them for some stupid price. Then, you have the motherboard you have to upgrade. You can reuse the AM4 cooler, though. This is, of course, for a homemade system.

Of course, this puts me into a conundrum. I asked my wife for two things for our anniversary - an ASUS mesh network and a Ryzen 9 CPU. Pretty sure she was planning on getting me both. But now, do I wait until the Ryzen 7000 comes out and see what happens? What if the Ryzen 9 is cheaper? What if it's more expensive because of dunghill bugs buying everything up and reselling at a marked increase?

I will stick with my 10th gen i-9 @3.7 GBz if I change I will go up to the 12th Gen

Our anniversary isn't until March 17, but I know she's looking for things already. At least I have the ASUS mesh network in my Amazon Wishlist.

St Patricks Day, same as ours. Back then the nearest you could get married to April 1st the more tax you could claim back ( well in the UK anyway )
