If I were in the market, probably so, if the price isn't exorbitant

With that said, if it depends on my buying new equipment to get Pluton, no, I won't. What I have is quite acceptable, and I don't see a reason to further upgrade. I can stay on Windows 10 until October 2025 and probably Windows 11 until around 2030/2031, so that's what I'll probably do.

I would concentrate on Windows 11 and forget about Windows 12. It might not even happen. If it does, we still have support for Windows 10 and 11 so there is no immediate hurry.

Sounds to me like nothing more than a ploy for MS to gain even more control over our computers. An I agree with @Wynona, Future versions of Windows may be out of reach for us regular folks. But what the hey. By then I'll be too old and senile to care.

IMO, any part of the CPU that is supposedly inaccessible, yet can be accessed by Windows Update... is hackable.
So there is definitely more to the Puton story, than MS is telling us.

Yeah, I decided to just ask for a Ryzen 9 5900X. The 5950X is way too expensive. Oh, and quality thermal paste!

I agree with you Wynona, as I have no intentions on upgrading my rig just to be able to run this Pluton chip. Windows 11 Pro works just fine for me. :-)

Coming back to reality, pre-installed W11 Pro on 12th generation Intel Core chips aren't in actual products that you can buy yet, I wonder why.

Edit: Oops, I see on the Dell website there are gaming laptops with those specs.
