Follow up post to the one I made Saturday about notifications not working and getting event log errors

This is just from today, for every notification I get an error and no notification shows for any app. However if I log in to another user (local account) it's working fine

The second PC here has now started showing the same problems today.

The only thing/s that can be causing it is the latest update to .8514 or the latest Nvidia drivers, which were installed just before the problems started

Very annoying error as it prevents notifications of anything, but I'm slightly less stressed now knowing it's not anything to do with my hardware

Can you uninstall the suspect update to see if behaviour changes? (System restore is a possibility for that).

Windows update was Thursday, GPU update was done Saturday. Problem started with this one yesterday.

If I wanted to deal with that I'd use a relevant restore point (and use the scan option). But then, I have one created daily on schedule as per a tenforums tutorial.

You'd have to see what you have, I guess.

Unfortunately this sounds familiar.
It was many years ago that I thought updating Nvidia drivers to the latest was important/useful until this happened:

Uninstalled Nvidia driver then installed the latest.
Oh dear, all the Right Click Context Menus were gone in Windows XP at the time.

Doing a lot of tedious research it emerged that the uninstallation of the Nvidia driver had stripped out a branch of the Registry dealing with those Right Click context menus.
I manually reconstructed that Registry branch which resulted in getting back the Context Menus.

Observations after that showed that Nvidia's list of older drivers dropped quite a few versions, wonder why...
It was the usual Windows/Nvidia uninstaller not any of the other 3rd party ones in this case.
Back in those days I did not do Images, forget whether I tried Restore points.

I'm on Build 26200.8457, not the RP channels for good reasons.

Well that makes it a 50/50 chance.

Both PCs have MS accounts but on my PC I have an additional local account and the problem doesn't occur there

Seems to affect MS accounts which is why the problem wasn't happening with my local account

I guess you are unaware of how Settings etc can be synched between MS accounts (same MS account) on different PCs. I.e. to each other.

As you say they are separate, I assume (unclear from your reply once again - think of your readership, please) I assume you mean the login credentials are different.
