When i unlock windows the start menu always shows, can i change this?

Hi, When I lock my windows 11 laptop, I have found a lot of the time when I unlock it, the start menu always appears.
Is there a way to change this, so it doesn't?

How are you locking the PC?
If you do so via the Start Menu...

... it will unlock to the state you left it in.
Try using WinKey+L
