I know it’s not the best but it is super user-friendly.

I've never had to need to use one on my machines as good file maintenance is kind of my thing but have used Wise Duplicate Finder to clean up a few machines owned by others.

By the way I use a 2023 portable version of Wise Duplicate Finder. However Wise does keep the app updated if you wish to install it.

I have tried lots of duplicate file cleaners.
The problem is they tend to overdo it. This includes dupeGuru.
I will give Duplicate Cleaner Pro a try. Thanks.

They all seem awfully important to me.
I tried to manually delete one or two of them, just to put my theory to a test, but was not given to access to do so.

Yes, you guys are right. The conclusion is a duplicate file cleaner is not necessary.

I was bored. It's somewhat basic, but it will look in the directory you specify for duplicates. When duplicates are found it will give you all paths for a given duplicate and ask you which one to delete. At the end it will ask for confirmation and pause to delete them.

My experience has been that it's never a good idea to turn a dup file utility loose on your Program or Windows folders as there are frequently duplicate files that need to be there. I've used them for stuff like my MP3 archives.
