I knew that was comin! ;-)

At the outset, it was actually a matter of transferring one set of credentials from the PC to my phone into a local only encrypted notepad app.
No intention or capability of using it as a login tool.

When I'm away from home for a short period without my computer, yes, I browse on my phone. I have a 7" screen that is quite nice to work with. And I use Microsoft Edge on my phone as well as on my computers, so using Edge works the same on all devices.

RoboForm lets you choose which special characters to choose from.

I have it set to use easily recognisable characters. If you find it hard to read a password, use CTRL and + to temporarily zoom in. Then CTRL and zero to set zoom back to normal.

That depends on the quality of your eyes.
Even with a good pair of spectacles I don't like to browse on any smartphone at all!
But as I'm already somewhat older I don't have to complain about it, glad I can manage to browse on normal monitors.

My password manager is a XLSX document with one special password to open and many systematically chosen passwords in a list. Combinations of a placename in the world and a number of the railway or busline it belongs to + a special character). Makes it easy to fill in by typing the password. Every site (or webshop) I am registered to has an unique password.

For webshops I save the data as well in a separate (password protected) pdf that I can easily open. Of course the pdf files are situated in the folder where the data of the webshop are stored, such as order confirmations.

That's a different view from how I saw it.
As I see it threads don't belong to just one person, but should serve all members to get an impression what the possibilities are for a certain 'how to do it'. Hijacking a thread is completely different from telling how it can be done alternatively.

PS. In your startpost I see nothing like it has to be 'commercial' software!
