The list really did help me see all of them installed
Before I didn't notice but a couple that did their ms nagging so didn't think there were many as 10 had by default.
To my surprise many were not needed lol

I'm keeping windows 11 on another thread I have installed it on 3 non supported shareware computers all have updated normally and my Lenovo T450 boots in just on 15 seconds from cold so yeah Currys/Pc World only offer of a Windows 11 preinstalled laptop was over a £1000 mad

I finally found some okay prices on more 256gb 860 pro's at micro center
Darn things are out of stock most places and even on sammy website or as much as 512gb versions
Checked today on amazon and they were just stupid high.

W11 DEV on an older (originally unsupported) Dell pc, simply upgraded ok to W11 home, this morning
Yeah, it'll stay.
Macrium image back up images aplenty on the Dells extra drive.

My advice is always have Macrium installed, be familiar with how to restore from saved image files, keep back up image files well identified as to what Windows version is in them, dated, and know how to swap images in and out of a pc's OS, and you'll have your back covered for the what if's and other unexpected surprises. I love that software.

But I agree with you that in Windows that button should be on the left --

The only argument I could imagine for not putting it there is that sloppy users might trigger it and accidentally sign out of things before saving open work. If that is why MS did this I'd offer default it to the right (to accommodate said users) but then offer an EASY way to switch sides.

This is a different topic but more and more I believe this right click menu --

Most of those options are sort of 'system apps'. And most look Windows 7ish. I believe the apps should be updated to Win11's look and dropped in a folder in the start menu (yes, FOLDERS) that reads system apps.

Users could then, in turn, relocate any apps they use all the time into the start menu proper. Because, yeah, I don't want to have to click 3 times to get to Task Manager where 2 will do.

I also believe some need to be renamed, like Device Manager should become 'Driver Manager'. And Computer Management is rather vague, since many of these options help 'manage' your computer.

Ironically the only option I'd leave in this mean is what you pointed out: sign out, sleep, shutdown, restart.

Micro Center is my favorite place to buy computers and hardware. If traffic isn't jammed I can be at their store in St. Davids Pa. in about 45 minutes to 1 hour. When I buy my computers and laptops I will order online so it's ready for pick-up when I get there.

I always save my images in subfolders under Macrium Images. for ex. Macrium Images - PowerSpec i7 - 10-31-21. I also rotate the external drives my images are saved on.

I've found that when I shut down before saving, it's there at the next startup.

I'm running Win 10 and Win 11 in a dual boot system. I'm currently using Win 10 but occasionally I switch into Win 11, do the updates and see what's changed. I would switch to Win 11 permanently but I want to run non Microsoft programs for images (JPG and PNG) and Win 11 won't let me set defaults for them. They always open by default using the Photos app no matter what I do or try. When MS fixes that (I'm not holding my breath) then I might make the switch. If anyone has a fix for my Win 11 images problem then I would love to have it.

Have you tried right clicking on a picture then clicking on Open with? From there you can click on Choose another app. From there you can select the program you want then click on Always use this app.
