There's only one thing that would stop me switching to 11 permanently right now - and it may seem like a small thing but - I don't care if the start button is in the middle or on the left - what I do care about is that the shutdown button is on the opposite side of the menu to the start button. Rather than just above it, like on W10. And that there is no way of moving the shutdown button. Ok so I can right click on the start button to shut down but that is - right click - select - feels back to front. Everything revolves around the start button so everything needs to be near it - like the shutdown button and the apps list.

Me too, that's another one in my 'vintage' collection. I prefer the XP version of Solitaire to the W7 'update' - the design looks more in keeping with the W10/11 styling. Plus it doesn't get uninstalled by each new Windows upgrade like the W7 games do

Then there's XP's 3D Pinball, that works in W11 too...

I'm keeping it, I liked it from the very first bootup. It was quick to install (i did a clean install) and relatively easy to configure, much more so than my first experience with windows 10.

There is still work to do, and for those who are hesitant it may be better to wait for a first major update possibly May 2022 ?

Windows 11 feature updates will release in the second half of the calendar year and will come with 24 months of support for Home, Pro, Pro for Workstations, and Pro Education editions. Windows 11 will come with 36 months of support for Enterprise and Education editions, continuing to provide additional time and flexibility for the validation and at-scale deployments common on those editions. The change to an annual update cadence and slightly longer lifecycle versus Windows 10 is based on user feedback and our overall update approach.

Of course there are always going to be exceptions to the rule dependent on software/hardware in use

I myself am a firm believer in keeping both my hardware and software fairly recent. Probably why I rarely run into hardware/software issues. That's me :)

Anyway, I still maintain old hardware/software causes more issues then some realize or are willing to admit. Instead its always "Microsoft's fault"

Hit the Feedback Hub. Anything with over 10,000 likes is a major design flaw.

You have a design point and expectation that Windows 11 has not met. Well that's unfortunate. For me, I like what has been delivered now rather than waiting for maybe many more years for something completely different.

If you do not like Win 11, then do not use it. If Win 10 works for you, then continue using it. Like iOS, Linux, it's your choice.

Wow. I rarely shut down my laptop. Maybe if I need to get into the BIOS (the shift key + Restart is another option). An alternative to the shutdown button on my laptop is Alt + F4.

I've not used it enough yet to find all its features. I received my new laptop on Friday and when first going through the process of setting up a new machine it asked if I wanted to go straight to installing 11, of course I said yes.

Going through the process I had a BIOS update, I let things carry on but didn't have time to play as it was getting late when everything was finished. Yesterday I again used it to continue the set up with the security and downloading Macrium after which I took an image onto a portable hard drive had a quick game of Facebooks Bubble Witch Saga and closed down for the night.

I've not turned it on yet but will a bit later and have another play.

That is my favourite version of Paint Shop Pro. Before Corel spoiled it.
Also, I would not trade my Adobe CS6 for any of of its later versions.
My Windows 10 and my virtual Windows 11 are both incident free. Solid as a rock.

A built-in workaround is to Right-click the 'Start Button', not Left-click .The Shut down/Log Out/Restart option is directly above, so no need to navigate to the 'Power' button.

winkey+x and type uu for shut down or ur for restart works still.
Never have to look at the nasty start menu.
