However, no evidence that Windows 11 as an OS is or will be more secure than Windows 10 has been posted and that was the point. Lot's of users like to claim that Windows 11 is more secure, but there is no evidence that it actually is.

I will keep Windows 11 Pro on my laptop until MS forces me to go back to Windows 10 Pro. If need be I can even re-install the original HDD and have instant Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate. It least with Windows 7 the keyboard special features would work again.

Microsoft itself says that it is more secure so who better to trust.:shawn: looking at it quickly makes one think that is is just a Win 10 OS that was rearranged and changed. Which it basically is but if it is NOT more secure would not MS be held in some sort of suit for making False Statements. Either way I like it better than Win 10 and it will only be changed once a year . It is also usable without Open Shel or Classic Shell , which both work in still, but I could not use 10 without OS or CS. It boils down to a matter of choice. There is no OS that is completely secure but many Linux Distro's come rather close. Life is full of choices some good some not so good, we will find out in about a year if Windows 11 was a good one or not.:crossed

Hi there
that's also a great solution - but you need VPN and DDNS built in -- For those on "Bog standard" contracts my idea probably works best -- of course if you have better solutions - use them. The point of the post was merely to say that things like TEAMVIEWER are really redundant these days - especially if you only use it because of "Dynamic DNS" systems that most IP providers use these days.

(And Still thanks again for your method of getting bootable "Windows to go systems" via DISM etc -- still using it. !!!)

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

Would you please quote me where I ever stated that Windows 11 was not as secure as Windows 10? I would like to see it, please. What I posted was that every security feature of Windows 11 is also available in Windows 10. And it was Josey Wales link that he posted that I quoted saying it. Microsoft is going to claim that it is more secure than Windows 10 because the setup routine blocks installation on less secure hardware, which, so far, can be bypassed without even having to use any third party software to do.

that is not also available in Windows 10. The only difference is that the setup routine, not even the Windows 11 OS itself, just the setup routine is filtering out hardware that does not support the security features that both Windows 10 and Windows 11 have available. They have turned on some security features in Windows 11 by default that are also in Windows 10.

If you are standard Joe user and you just accept defaults and don't know what to adjust, then your installation of Windows 11 will likely be more secure than the default installation of Windows 10. But all the same security features are there in Windows 10, you just have to turn some on in settings.

I will keep it. I am luck to have 2 laptops, my main one in on Win 10 Pro and and I have a Dell Inspiron 3501 with ssd and 16gb of ram and that is sweet on windows 11. I bought it just to run win 11 on.

And yes, we can bypass stuff now because Microsoft wants the OS tested on a myriad of machines for testing purposes. I thought we all understood that. I thought we all understood the final product will have the final say. Perhaps some won't accept that?

It's simple. You show me a security feature that is in Windows 11 that is not also available in Windows 10. So far nobody has been able to do that. Every security feature that anyone has pointed out in Windows 11, I have shown a corresponding article that says it is in Windows 10 also.
