why doesn't Win11 save icon positions? How to make it save positions?

Right click on desktop and select 'view'. Make sure 'auto arrange icons' is unchecked and 'align icons to grid' is checked. Position your icons where you want them and then hit the F5 key to see if it will lock them in place.

thanx,, will see if it works for me.. unfortunately in flight sims, the F5 is an extremely important key for putting your cockpit position in center.

When not in flight similator the f5 key is the refresh key

it works just tried it.

did not fix it... I have a utility to save them, doesn't fit it either. I have a much older utility that works, but should not have to resort to this non-sense.

Just an educated guess here, but Flight Similator has probably remapped the f5 key in the registry.Try holding down the FN key and then hit F5 to see if it makes a difference in refreshing.

right "Click to align Icons after put them where YOU ! Wan't to and show Desktop "ICONS" The "HIT F5 it same them . this was the Previous member here said in windows 11release I donn't Use Beta or dev.

sometime's you just have to do it instead Dpending on you're PC to do it for you.

it saves the icons for the most part, but there are some icons it just refuses to put in the right place. Not many, but is still a pia. I think that while isn't going to drive anyone insane it is still b.s.

In Done with flight simulator and happy

They do it's windows 11 . once you set them hit f5 it should lock them in to place after you set it .
