Solved Widget not opening in Microsoft Edge

I have a widget in the taskbar that brings up news and events. I used to click on an item and it would open in Microsoft Edge although my default browser is Google Chrome. Not a problem. My problem now is that I click on an item displayed by the widget and it goes to Edge, the address bar shows the address and it says loading but it's never able to complete, says "Hmm, can't reach this page".
Ideally I would like the widget to be able to open an item in Chrome but at the moment it's not opening at all. Edge will open any of my shortcuts to web addresses no problem, just not from the widget. Help would be appreciated.

Not sure why they wont open in Edge, but I use MSEdge Redirect to set the all links in search etc to open in my default browser. Works really well

If wanting to try, I’d suggest installing it in Active Mode unless you’re in the EU.

oh thank you so much. Installed MSEdgeRedirect and, instant cure. Click on news item on widget and it opens instantly, and IN CHROME. Brilliant. Thank you again, thought it would be harder than that. great. Mike
