Will not wake from sleep - Win 11 25H2

This problem started yesterday. No apps have been changed =- no alterations made or software changes.
PC goes to sleep as always at the required time etc. NOW neither the mouse or the keyboard will wake the PC
All the settings required are set as necessary - however, I noticed that items like hybrid sleep, and the fast startup options are now missing from the power menu.
I have to use the power button to restart the PC.
Have we again got a MS update problem to contend with?

Did you by chance just update a graphics driver, especially NVIDIA? That's often a cause for sleep issues.

try changing the power profile. if your are on 'balanced' power profile change it to 'high performance'
then restart your system

then check the settings for that power profile and see if that gives any improvement.

Windows Update on some systems upgrades the UEFI firmware (aka BIOS). This might set the default settings affecting the sleep modes. Have a look at BIOS power settings as well as the Windows power settings.

I had the same issue, sometimes I couldn't wake the computer up. Turned out it was the Nvidia GPU drivers. I tried a number of different versions, none of them solved the problem. My Nvidia RTX-4060 board is resting in the closet until Nvidia gets their S*** together and I can use it again! I'm living with the Intel built-in GPU until them. The only time I notice it is when I'm doing 3D modeling or PCB board design. Those are graphics intensive enough to benefit from faster graphics.

Do you actually need sleep? I had a computer that wouldn't wake from sleep. I disabled sleep and enabled hibernation instead. Not as good as sleep but better than removing the graphics card.

Open the Control Panel

Go to Hardware and Sound > Power Options

1 Select Choose what the power buttons do

2 Select Change settings that are currently unavailable

3. You can now select/unselect Sleep and Hibernate

Back to Hardware and Sound > Power Options

4. Select Change plan settings

5. Select Change advanced power settings

6. You can change Sleep and Hibernation settings

Without any changes - all is working again. Both keyboard OR mouse will wake the the PC up as before. I cannot give any explanation for this.
However, I can confirm that hybrid sleep, and hibernation after options are still missing from the power menu.
Will have to think through this one!

Did you see the options in the Control Panel? If so, could you enable them?

Hibernation took as long as booting from power off on my machine, so I didn't see the point of bothering with it. I figure at some point Nvidia will get it's act together and I'll stick the video card back in.

Please correct your CPU specs
There is no official Intel processor named the i5-3346. You are likely referring to the Intel Core i5-3340 (or its low-power variant, the i5-3340S), which is a 3rd-generation "Ivy Bridge" desktop processor.
The built ind graphics is Intel HD Graphics 2500

Hibernation is useful when you have many applications open and you don't want to reopen them at startup. Even more if these applications have unsaved data and you can't interrupt their process. Regarding the nVidia drivers, I take you used the Game Ready drivers. Try switching to the Studio drivers which might not have any issues. Post results. I am not playing demanding AAA games, but I do a lot of video editing and the Studio drivers offer stability and performance. I don't think they have less performance in games, although they don't patch some titles or not offer latest effects. Check for yourself.

I understand what hibernation does, but I really don't find myself in that situation. As for the drivers, I tried both the Studio drivers which I normally use, and then I tried the Game Ready drivers, both have the same problem.

Since I dumped the Nvidia drivers and board, no more problems.

I don't know if that makes a difference, but my installation is Legacy BIOS, so nVidia works in Legacy mode. If your installation is UEFI mode and the card works with GOP, what you experience might be the motherboard not handling the graphics card data properly. That explains why I don't have any issues with my 3rd generation Intel system while you have.

You don't have hybrid sleep, and hibernation if hibernation is disabled
Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
powercfg /a
