Will SFC undo custom registry edits?

I recently Disabled the More Options Context menu and it got me wondering if when I run SFC (System File Checker) it would undo that or any other custom edit I make.

It hasn't undone that tweak for me, and I run SFC a lot.
SFC hasn't undone any of my tweaks. All it really does is fix "broken" things, not tweaked things.

Could you imagine if you have made extensive customizations to Windows and SFC undid all of that? Its purpose is not to undo changes to settings / registry /etc. For that you could perform a "Reset this PC" operation.

We had set PowerShell and Terminal to always run in an elevated prompt. I remember SFC flagged at least one of those as issues and undid them.

I've had W11 Pro running on this rig for almost 2 months now - Clean Install, and I've run SFC maybe 3 times. Every time it finds errors to repair.
So I was wondering if all my tweaking could be the reason.

I was reading the other current threads regarding DISM and SFC.
I just did DISM /Restorehealth first - it was stuck at 62.3% for a while then finished successfully.
Then ran SFC - no integrity violations.

SFC won't undo Registry tweaks, but it will certainly restore the original system files, so any modified versions will be gone. That is if you have replaced the default system icons with custom icons, as I have done, then you'll have to redo your customizations.

The SFC protects and repairs critical system files and critical registry keys, it won't cause any changes the user made to unprotected registry keys.

Yup, which includes replacing any custom startup sound you use, have to reset mine anytime I run it.
