Windows 10 and 11 Pro (Win 11 unable to reinstall due to latest MS issue)
Hi
A harddrive was being repaired by windows at boot up. It was at stage 2 96% and had been running for around 8 hours with 3 hours to go.
This morning it was at 97% with 7 hours to go.
Unfortunately i had to power down the pc to get to work.
Now windows can't see the drive.
Any help with this one or have I have nailed its coffin :(

Hi So Ive got my system back up and I can see an internal seagate 4tb hd is not showing up and appears to be the culprit from the OP.
Im seeing in disk manager
1642275964452.png
Ive tried pressing ok on the default and this returns the following error:
1642275999175.png
Bearing in mind the system had a cold reboot during the repair proces at87% with 7 hours to go (huge regret shouldve left it) we live and learn.!
Any guidance appreaciate - whilst i do have a backup of the drive (a few months back) - I would prefer to retrieve the data or simply get the drive back up and runnning.
I have swapped out power and hard drive connectors to mitigate cable issues.
#I have not and will not try anything else until I hear from someone here as I really do not want to fudge it up

Many thanks
M

Im binning the drive from the rig - checked back its circa 2012/2015 so simply giving up and only 2TB (thought it was 4tb) - the repair on boot was a 4tb caddy and Im retrieving that via

Thanks for your time - sorry it was confusing as hadn't realised 2 drives had failed at the same time (both over 5 years).

I would remove the drive from the USB enclosure and connect inside the PC.

Hi Spapakons - yes I've done this. Funny enough the Seagate drive is under warranty 5 year expires 2 weeks time and on phone to them now lol - they are replacing and I have all the data backed up which has now been restored.
The other drive is over 9 years old. Again Ive got back up of the data and restoring as we speak.
I just cant get it to show up in windows or using test disk, disk part etc. I think its totally funked out.

Thanks for coming on and replying.
