Windows 11 21H2 Device Manager Question

In device manager, sub category software devices there is listed SpitCameraGroup. Can someone tell me what this may be? In event manager, no events have taken place but I see SpitCameraGroup

Was this software that was installed after the purchase of this computer, or is it a default program? Attached screenshots

Hmm, it isn't a default Windows entry as far as I am aware, the nearest I could get to it is SplitCam which is a software package for customising video conference calls using webcams. You might get a clue as to what it is by right-clicking the entries in device manager, choose properties then the events tab, it should list the .inf used for setup.

Just wondering. Are you monitoring external cameras at your home or cameras from a remote location, such as security cameras?

No, but I believe my husband is recording me without my knowledge. Could this be the token I need to come at him with this?

In all honesty, I just threw that suggestion out off the top of my head. There's got to be some kind of software that goes along with this. Open Control Panel. In upper right corner select 'view by' as small icons. Open programs and Features. A list of your installed programs will show. Post a screenshot of them so we can figure it out.

Also right click on one of those spitcam entries in device manager-properties-look at both the driver tab and details tab to see if any manufacturer name is listed anywhere, or any other kind of identification. Do the same thing for spitcamgroup.

Absolutely nothing on the web identifies as 'spitcam'. , I did a search of 'spit cam group' and what I could find related to porn and hidden cameras, so that's not good. If we can find the software relating to the cameras, hopefully we can get rid of them.
I found a few sites searching for 'spit cam' and the few results I got was from sites that showed multiple camera photoshots of the same place.

Uh...you might want to get a professional involved in this, especially if you don't know what you're looking for.

My two cents,

@Dru2 point is valid.
If a camera app is found in her program list, the date it was installed can tell her if that app came on her computer or was installed later. It's up to her how she wants to deal with it. This whole thing may be for naught as it may be something that came on her computer and is in plain sight.

Search results are sparse to say the least but I found this on one of those driver scan sites,

None the wiser, not sure what this search result means .... one of those (unnecessary) driver-sniffer programs loaded on the back of other software??

Searching the Microsoft Store, Docs and Developer sites, there are no references to SpitCameraGroup, so I highly doubt the vendor is actually Microsoft.
If the OP is concerned that their husband is recording them secretly then the issue becomes more complicated depending on the circumstances.
If the husband lives in the same property then any action on the part of the OP to find/ remove any hidden cameras, if they exist, could result in a situation the OP would rather avoid, if the husband lives elsewhere then the OP would need to deny the husband access to the property after taking any action.
We don't know all the details of the OP's situation, so I would think the best advise would be for them to contact their local police and domestic advice service and/ or trusted relatives/ friends with their concerns, if possible.
There are devices that can detect hidden surveillance devices, maybe the police could recommend how to go about it, but again the OP needs to be safe to do so.
