Are any of you guys that have got this installed on HyperV able to use the Enhanced session view?

I've tried on two installs now and both just sit at a blank log-on screen without log-on box.

I have no issues using enhanced mode. The key is to close Connect to VM the pop-up as soon as it appears, to be able to continue to sign-in screen:

Enhanced 4.jpg

When in sign-in screen, invoke the pop-up from View menu:

Enhanced 1.jpg

Select your preferred resolution, and enter your password to sign in:

Nice and smooth ride to desktop in enhanced mode:

John, you are closing it to proceed to sign-in screen. When there, call enhanced mode from View menu, it re-opens the Connect pop-up, allowing you to select all monitors:

When done, enter your password and sign in. VM is now using all your monitors:

OK, my idea did not work.

A possible workaround, John: Connect to a single display, not too high resolution enhanced session. When connected, close the VM window. Select Edit session settings on VM pane in Hyper-V Manager (bottom right pane):

Enhanced 7.jpg

It re-opens VM Connect window. Now select Use all monitors. It just might work, repeat the procedure if not: close VM Connect Windows, re-open it from Edit session settings.

This is an old trick, I had to do it sometimes multiple times to finally get to enhanced mode when we were still using pre-release Insider builds late 2014 - early 2015.

I now have Windows 11 working in Hyper 11 and my initial impression is I'm underwhelmed

Fortunately MS Money 2005 still works so I don't lose 25 years of transactions. I could only get Open Shell to work by configuring it to open with the Win key, otherwise mouse left / right click doesn't work although that might be something to do with Hyper V.

I don't have the edit session options.

That is only available, when VM has an active enhanced session. That's why I suggested, that you try first, if you could get a single display, normal enhanced connection, with relatively small resolution. When / if it works, let VM be running, but close its window. Enhanced session remains active in the background.

Now select the VM in Hyper-V Manager, top middle pane, and you should see Edit session settings on VM pane.

When / if it works, let VM be running, but close its window. Enhanced session remains active in the background.

Now select the VM in Hyper-V Manager, top middle pane, and you should see Edit session settings on VM pane.

I've found a workaround, I've enabled remote desktop on it and remote in from my PC.

Nice. I cannot get enhanced session to work either. If it is enabled, I get the same thing as John, Shaun, etc.

I'm also testing a prototype 4K monitor, so one of my monitors is native 1920*1080 and the other is 3840*2160, and trying to use "use all monitors" always sets it to use Largest size and place the toolbar on hte 4K monitor, even if the screen is on the smaller monitor.

I am sorry you guys have issues with enhanced session. I simply have no reasonable explanations. I can only say, that for me, it works flawlessly.

Are any of you guys that have got this installed on HyperV able to use the Enhanced session view?

I've tried on two installs now and both just sit at a black log-on screen without log-on box.
I worked with this for a long time in Hyper-V. When I was on that blank, no login screen I went to Basic Version and it appeared. I then had the login screen, went in and the first thing that I did was create a Local Account. Once I was changed over to Local Account I shut it down and restarted. When it came back up I was able to select the screen resolution I wanted, it was in Enhanced Mode and everything was working at that point.

Enhanced mode also works if you turn off Windows Hello
