Windows 11
Hello everybody, I'm new to the forum.
I start this thread because I have a problem on my Lenovo Ideapad with Windows 11 (OS build 22000.739).
When I launch applications like MegaSync or PowerToys (these two just for example because the problem occurs also with other software), the trash icon in Desktop is moved to another position (always in Desktop) automatically and the OS language change from ITA to ENG. The weird thing is that the English language is applied only to Windows File Explorer, to the context menu and to the "new menu", all the rest of the OS remains in ITA, keyboard and Settings included.
Restarting explorer.exe all the names come back to the ITA language (even if not all the times i restart explorer.exe).
I cheched the system logs but nothing strange/errors/ is showing.
I have removed all language packs except for Italian.
I thoroughly scanned the PC to see if there was any virus / malware but nothing was found in my OS.

I hope someone could suggest me any solution for this weird case. Thank you in advance

Thank you so much glasskuter for you reply.
I checked your first link and i can also say you my Win 11 version is not single language (version).
I also followed the tutorial on your second link and checked "Let me use a different input method for each app window" but the problem persist :(

I also run the sfc /scannow command but no errors/files corruptions were detected.

I really don't know where is the problem in my OS... really weird :cautious:

I have this problem with my system switching to German on occasion. I was learning German and input the language pack. I thought I'd removed it, but the switch still occurs. I have to reboot to get it to switch back to English. If I find a fix, I'll let you know.

This is what I'm trying to see if it works.
  1. Go to Settings > Time & Language > Typing > Advanced keyboard settings.
  2. Override the default input method to the language of your choice instead of having "Use language list (recommended)".
  3. Deselect "Let me use a different input method for each app window".
See if that works. Let us know.

I could try to run the cmd %windir%\system32\sysprep\sysprep.exe ?
Is it useful or i just spending time for nothing ?
Thank you

I'm not sure what you expect to accomplish by using sysprep. Sysprep is for employing a Windows image to new PCs. Generalizing the image removes computer-specific information such as installed drivers and the computer security identifier.

The only further advice I can give to to attempt a repair install to see if it makes a difference. Repair Install Windows 11 with an In-place Upgrade Tutorial

After that, only thing left would be to start over and clean install or, since that computer is so new, restore factory image if the system came with Windows 11.

Thanks glasskuter  I think you're right. Maybe a Windows repair installation could fix the problem and it's more specific than Sysprep. I 'll try and thanks for the link (y)
