Windows 11 BSODs when attempting to play any game

This problem recently started with no changes to hardware or software (that I can remember). I play Rust mainly on my PC and when I open the game, pick a server and the game loads, I get a BSOD and it doesn't create a memory dump file although I have it enabled. I normally have 32GB of RAM, but I removed two, tested in memtest86, passed, and then swapped the RAM with the other 2 sticks in the other two slots, which also passed. Also disconnected most non-OS drives, ran
sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, and chkdsk, all came back ok. I have no idea what could be causing this at this point.

a) Fresh Windows 11 installation with possible drive problems

b) Windows failed fast startup

Rust uses Easy Anti Cheat, and that is a Kernel level Anti Cheat system. I suspect the anti cheat driver is out of date and therefore conflicts with your OS and other drivers.

Also if you play other games with similar anti cheat, there may be conflicts between these technologies.

Thanks for the replies. I just formatted the drive and installed windows 10 and it still crashes when a game is launched. I’ll do as suggested. Thanks

how many usb devices..? just boot and try the game with keyboard and mouse and see what happens. if it crashes as you add devices, the window slog file should show device causing crash.
