Windows 11 displays black screen only

If you have access to another computer. you could connect your SSD to it via USB (you need a special cable) and save your data from there. Make sure you handle it with care of course and if possible buy an external case to protect it.
I did this recently with an old laptop that would not boot, saved my data on the new laptop, then repartitioned the old HDD, put my data back on it, put the old HDD back into the old laptop and now it boots fine.

I think I did something bad.

First, just to let you all know I tried repair and all of the other options before trying to do a clean installation. I think I messed up the SSD though.

Is there a way to reset my SSD to factory settings? I'm pretty sure I formatted over a a partition MSR Reserved or System. Let me get pics. That partition named unallocated space ? I created it! I don't know what came over me, but I clicked that particular partition and hit FORMAT.

Windows kept creating those other partitions labeled system, and telling me there would be a windows.old folder or something in my computer where the old Windows installation would be. That happened only after I had already formatted that unallocated space partition. The other errors were different. Windows would go down the installation steps until the last or the one before the last I can't remember and then fail.

I never tried to install Windows without first formatting that darn partition... I think the SSD has been corrupted by what I did.

I have a HDD with Windows 10 installed in my computer but it cannot see the SSD. It's a 2TB Western Digital.

So everything is good, all I need to do is to delete all partitions?

We're not communicating here. No, without seeing a copy of your disk structure as of right now, I would not say it is good. I'm going on what you are telling me. For a windows install to work as expected and for the resulting partitions that the install creates to be correct, in that tutorial on how to install windows in step 11 it says

  • Delete all partitions on the Drive # (ex: Drive 0) you want to install Windows 11 until that Drive # shows only as one Unallocated Space, select the unallocated space, and click/tap on Next.
  • Select a Primary or unallocated partition on a drive you want to install Windows 11, Delete the partition/volume if not already unallocated, click/tap on OK to confirm, and click/tap on Next.
What this does is wipe the drive of all partitions making every block on the drive unallocated. The install process then creates it's own partitions correctly.

You will need to start the install process over, when you get to step 11 of the tutorial, select each partition, one at a time, and click delete. After all partitions are deleted, you should then see nothing but unallocated space. It should automatically be selected for the install to put windows on it.

Well, let us know how it went when you are ready.
Now I don't even get the little sound of Windows greeting me. Windows 10 in the HDD also stopped working. It is missing a file from Windows 10 instalation media, I think, from the name of it. I turned off the SATA connection of my HDD during one of my attempts. There was nothing but drive 1, partition 0, i.e. my SSD. It still didn't work. I'm too tired to keep going tonight...

Clean installation. Black screen. No more sound. No more Windows 10.

The weird thing is, it still turns off the screen (and I bet it also goes to sleep, too...)

If you still have problems, go to a computer shop. I don't think they charge much to install Windows if you have your own installation disk.

I do have problems. My computer is not working. I better call the technician here because this computer weighs a lot and it's hard to transport. Maybe the SSD went kaput. Whatever it is, it's still under warranty.
