windows 11 file explorer opening in center of screen

Basically, when I click on File explorer to open it, it always opens to the Center of Screen, I would like it to open in the corner of the screen as the video shows. and to keep a bigger size as well. is this possible??

There is no video attached to this thread.
Wherever you close File Explorer, it will open in the same spot and be the same size unless you Maximize it
So If you drag File Explorer to the corner you wish to see it at and use the arrows to resize it, then close it. When you reopen, it will be where you left it and the size you left it as.

and I have tried to drag it to the bottom corner of the screen and resized it. Even tried to Pressing/Hold CTRL before closing it, and still doesn't do anything. it will open all the time in the Center of the Screen.

Are you using the standard Windows 11 Explorer (aka tabbed Explorer), or are you using the old Explorer (aka ribbon UI)?

That has been the same for almost every App for 30 years thru various versions of Windows.

That does change some Registry entries. If you have been messing in there or doing system mods it may not work.

Yep I have tried that and have tried L, R, any way I could and it doesn't work for me at least.

On the Registry item, I don't mess with that. I did that long time ago, and everytime I did, I crashed the system and had to reformat.. Sooooo... I STAY away from that area.

Just tried your suggesting and it still didn't allow me to keep the new location and size.

Oh well, it's not a big deal, but I like to be organized, and thought I'd revisit this issue. oh well.. Thanks everybody for the help.

Thank you everybody for the suggestions. unfortunately nothing has helped.

But I did find, or actually had a video pop up on my YouTube feed, and it helped. it's a free program called, WinSize2_2.38.04. I downloaded it and it has fixed the problem for me, basically you open the window (any window) that you want and size it and place it where you want. then with the shortcut (ALT+CTRL+X) over the window it saves the location and size. It sits quietly in the taskbar.

Did you uninstall the Smart Backup (x64) software? That is absolutely known to cause this issue with the Windows 11 Explorer.

@LesFerch YOU ARE A LEGEND FOR MENTIONING THIS FIX!
I've been battling with this issue longer than I can remeber and felt like I searched all posts related to it and nothing ever fixed it. By chance I stumbled on this thread, uninstalled Smart Backup and BAM, issue resolved.
I may never post here or even visit this site again but I'm certainley grateful.
