Windows 11. File Explorer: recent docs list incorrect

Just moved to Windows 11 from 10. In File Explorer, the recent docs list is huge - 50? and renews itself every time I open WE. The files displayed I have not used for a long time - often many months.
Using MS 365 and One Drive, which is working fine.
