No, the OoBE for both Home and Pro will show a 'Let's connect you to a network..' screen. The only difference between Home and Pro is that Home does not have the 'I don't have internet' option. Click that in Pro to go to the local account set up. In Home Ctrl+F4 has the same effect as clicking that option.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Beta as native boot vhdx.

OK, so there is a workaround. Just press ALT+F4 to manually close the window and proceed with a Local Account. Thank you for sharing.

This may be a silly question but, my friend and I tried to install Win11 on his ACER laptop.
It ORIGINALLY had Win 8 home and I guess it is in the SLIC on the BIOS because the ONLY
install it would do is Win11 home, it DIDN'T give an option.
He had installed a WIN10 Pro version (Legit) with a number but obviously this is not recorded
in BIOS.
He had a net connection setup when installing and the Win10 version was recorded with MS
but it still would only install home?

Has anyone else had this issue?

I doubt it, apparently it was a month or more older than the officially released one I'm not sure why people are still using it.

That is the standard way that Windows 10 and 11 setup works. It first checks the computer firmware for a Windows 8, 10 or 11 product key and if it finds there it uses that to install the edition of Windows that the product key is for. Since this computer presumedly has a digital license for Windows 10 Pro established for it, just go to the activation screen and change the product key to the generic for Windows 10 Pro: VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T. That will trigger the upgrade to Pro based upon the existing digital license for that computer stored on Microsoft activation servers.
