Insider Windows 11 Insider Beta Build 22621.1 (ni_release) Version 22H2 - May 11

So upon clean install my network is still limited.
Tried MS default driver, updated MS driver, Realtek original.

EDIT: It fixed instantly when I rolled back to the updated MS driver. Interesting.

O.T but does anybody actually use W11/ W10 Enterprise these days -- all the clients I have been working for recently give their "Permies" laptops with W10 / W11 Pro or W10/W11 Workstation on it -- that's where I got my license for Workstation from -- a work client.

Not in most major UK corporations I have worked for in Aberdeen. I would say nearly all use Enterprise.

Anyone else had this bug on 22h2? ticked boxes not enabled.

No, and you are showing another bug too. Even if it were enabled, the un-ticked boxes shouldn't be showing until you hover over one of them, or if you have ticked one.

Have you tried turning on 'item check boxes' then turning it off again?

Yeah tried ticking it on and off nothing happens only time it goes is when i restart but comes back after few hours weird.

FYSA ... this might even be worthy of its own topic: I just remotely helped someone set up a brand new laptop with Win 11 Home... forget the fact that it was in S mode, which was its own special sort of fun to get out of, bypassing the Network Connection Setup screen was *NOT* possible using either the Shift+F10 trick or the Alt+F4 trick.... what DID work? Shift+Ctrl+Esc to bring up Task Manager, and in the process tab, find “Network Connection Flow” click on “End Task”. Boom, move to the next screen to create a local account! Hope this helps someone else get past Microsoft's damned insistence on creating an online account. Take that, Bill.

Just did some tests today clean-installing 22621.1 Beta build on an unsupported PC. Got to the bit about signing in to my MS account, and I just entered fake@fake.com with password fake and that worked! Made me set up a local account instead. Thought it was going to be more complex now.

I haven't tried this alternative method to bypass the MS account requirement. It may be of some help to others.

The humor is that she's got a Network+ study book and has her nails painted in the 548B schema... yea, only funny if you've ever punched down your own Ethernet cables

Installer applications seem to be broken if they try to make a system restore point during installation. In fact, if you try to do a manual checkpoint or change settings for system restore, the system app will crash. I know they probably removed the functionality in favor of the new restore section in settings, but the old functionality needs to stay so we don't break installations. at least for msiexec we can set MSIFASTINSTALL=1, this is not the case for many other installers, like Advanced installer, for instance. Not even sure how to report this to Microsoft, but this really should be a blocker, especially if this build has really been signed as RTM as the rumor mill seems to indicate. Try installing shortkeys, or nodejs to see what I'm talking about. If anyone finds a workaround, let me know.

I assumed that it was something like that, although I wouldn't know a 548B shcema from a Pantone color code.

It might be legal cheating. I know a guy who took a protractor to the SATs a few years ago. (Like 50.) It was allowed, and as the geometric pictures in the math test were done accurately, it got him some points. Looking at the SAT as a form of intelligence test, it was fair enough.

At university, he got through a math requirement by taking a remedial course. I asked him what it was: algebra? Arithmetic, he replied. He just showed up for the exams. The prof didn't quite dare to fail him. (I still get in trouble with some when I complain that no one should get university credit for elementary school material.)

The argument is that students who need the remedial class wouldn't take it if it was uncredited. Sort of sad if that's the only math they ever take. The jump from arithmetic to calculus is too large for most, though.

I admit that I don't know how students outside STEM majors usually fulfil their graduation requirements.

I totally understand the argument that people wouldn't take the remedial course if it's uncredited. When I was getting my undergraduate degree, there was the requirement to take uncredited remedial courses if you didn't pass the placement exams. If you refused to do it, you simply didn't graduate. This notion that college degrees are a right, which is an argument I've heard, is asinine.

Plenty of non-STEM majors take and pass math. I took finite mathematics and algebra. That's all that was required of me in my undergraduate. I did have to take two graduate-level courses in statistics when I was getting my Ph.D. I'm not great at math, but I managed to do well in both courses. Some of it is about mindset and motivation.

The universities I attended didn't have placement exams. The last major barrier was the PhD preliminary exam, taken early in a doctoral program. Seemed to be calibrated to fail about 1/6 of the students. (Most who failed but had passed their coursework were given an MS and sent on their way.) It was a poor predicter of success in the workplace, though: it didn't spot political skills, which are valuable in most jobs.
