macOS Mojave - Version 10.14.6 (18G9323) / Windows 10 Pro x64 (21H1)

Will it be possible with the Windows 11 GM in future? This is my personal goal for the near future.

Cheers :cool:

Probably not, as I don't believe the Synology devices have a TPM, plus they usually have older processors as well.

Most VM systems have some sort of possibilty to use a TPM Emulator so old hardware shouldn't be an issue. Synology if it can run VM's I suppose it would probably be based on KVM/QEMU -- not sure on Synology's OS but I'm sure it's linux based. Download the windows virtio drivers as well from the fedora site and install in the Windows VM.

Install package swtpm for the emulator and run (on the host) after install ./config. -- my Linux distro starts it automatically when powering on the W11 VM. It should generate an initial key - the emulator is provided by IBM and seems to pass all the W11 tests.

I'm running a W11 VM here on a system without physical TPM -- the TPM emulator works fine in a VM and Windows 11 recognises it

Hi there
@M4v3r1ck

If you can get a Windows 11 Guest installed - install the synology Guest Tool. You need to install this IN the GUEST. Similar to VMWare and VBOX which have similar utilities - usually to improve virtual networking, display, mouse, keyboard and virtual disk I/O.

From what I see synology's HYPERVISOR is similar to KVM/QEMU - but it has its own Virtual Machine manager GUI.
I haven't seen anything yet on being able to install a TPM emulator on a synology HOST but I'm sure there are people out there who might have done that. Synology is only some sort of specialised Linux type kernel after all said and done and it is basically using QEMU for its VM operations.

You're on your own on this one - but I'd be interested if you find an answer. !!

I Haven't a synology system to play with this I'm afraid.

Cheers
