Windows 11 keeps changing my brightness setting

Just
That should not be there anymore (Version 1.100.5688.0). There is no such feature setting in the latest Intel Graphics Command Center. It seems to have been integrated in to Windows settings, power plans etc.
Update the App.
Apps > Intel GCC > Advanced options > Reset/Repair.

Depending on the Power Plans supplied by the Laptop manufacturer, it might be there or not, check all the plans.

Another place to look is in the Manufacturers App look for ambient light/content detection altering brightness.

"Wallpaper Engine" If that is some mod it could interfere with Intel graphics profiles loading up.

Mine is a different brand but almost identical hardware, Same CPU and Intel integrated graphics. No problem, no system mods.
Just installed a completely fresh Intel GCC with all the trimmings. We'll see if this solves the issue. :)

Cool. I'll look into that. I'm not sure I've checked the BIOS much on this laptop, but on past ones there's barely been any options.

It doesn't look like I'm able to install the latest update. I thought it was a bit strange there was update after update, but checking on Intel Driver & Support Assistant says there are nothing but errors. Installation failed with error code 1000. That's for 32.0.101.7076.

Hardly surprising.
That is wrong, that is the old style Intel GCC for old style drivers.

You should be using the UWP Intel GCC with DCH drivers. You get that from the MS Store.
That would have been installed when you bought the Laptop, and updated from the MS Store.

Mixing old and new DCH drivers and Control Panels leads to problems.

Oh. And yet I thought a link I followed, from the program, took me to the right place and then asked me to install a hardware checker to find the right drivers. And that's how I wound up installing these.

Intel Driver & Support Assistant maybe useful for Desktops, but not Laptops with integrated hardware.
I never install or use it.
MS Store and Windows updates ensures you don't make mistakes or get beta stuff.

I'm not so sure about that. While I prefer to use the display driver from the OEM, I do update the WiFi and Bluetooth drivers using the Intel assistant.

Okay, I'm a bit confused on which I should be downloading.

ApplicationFrameHost_qY7eWylSZw.webp
The one on the right looks like the one I downloaded yesterday, but the one on the left looks to be for Windows 10 and 6th gen CPUs.

If no bios setting:
maybe try this as people on asus forum have disabled it by going: "win+R > services.msc > stop & disable "NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D Driver Service" and "NVIDIA Streamer Service"" auto-dimming gone at that point.

However don't know what it could impact in what you use on laptop. But you can always enable them back ofcouse.

Thanks. I'll take a lookie and see later. Including what's available in the BIOS. :)

Is there a particular name/setting it would come under in the BIOS? Can't see anything there it could be. Also, the only Nvidia setting in Services I have is NVIDIA Display Container LS.

You will have to download your Intel Graphics driver from ASUS, store that somewhere.

Uninstall your Intel Graphics Driver and Control Panel. Probably both are the old style ones.

It may or may not auto download correct Intel DCH drivers, if not use the ones you got from ASUS.

Then install the proper Intel GCC from the MS Store, the first in the list as illustrated.

Well, I downloaded it from here - ASUS TUF Gaming F15(2022) - Support - uninstalled what was on my system, and installed it from the download, but it doesn't appear to be anywhere. It doesn't look like it's even on.

Well, after a few days, where I uninstalled the Intel drivers, downloaded and supposedly installed it from ASUS' website, and then installed it from the Microsoft Store, I can report that the issue still remains. 😅

Question: is it possible a faulty laptop charger could cause the brightness to change? I ask because I think mine is starting to act up. It'll be plugged in and then randomly it'll revert to using the battery and then back to being plugged in. I have to sometimes jiggle it to correct it. I've bought a replacement one for as and when, but was wondering if that could be affecting it?

I guess you could try it and see :-) If the Asus drivers didn't work - and the charger doesn't work (sounds unlikely to me that it's the charger), would it be worth trying the latest driver from Intel?

I can give it a shot next time I use my laptop. To be honest, I didn’t realise there was a driver for the CPU. 😅 I’ve plugged the new charger in, too. The constant switching from charging to uncharging was driving me nuts.
