Windows 11 Pro taskbar

Hi guys today i have just started using windows 11 pro and i am not able to place apps on the taskbar i managed to put a web browser on but it will not let me add (This PC) or any other app. when i move a app over the task bar it changes to a no entry sign

I have just tried on my laptop and i was able to add apps to the taskbar but now that's disabled as well

AM i missing something

You can pin This PC to Windows explorer, but not directly to taskbar. Create desktop shortcuts of other apps, then right click and select show more options on the bottom. I use OpenShell start menu replacement which allows me to create desktop shortcuts for mail, store, weather, etc. Option to pin to taskbar shows after doing this and selecting the "show more options" menu.
